GIVING OUR COASTSIDE COMMUNITIES A Beach BREAK

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Our outdoor movie nights began the summer of 2020 as a labor of love to bring the community safely together for the joy that uplifting movies represent during an especially challenging time.  Now, here we are in 2023, still going strong.  Our #1 goal is to help keep our local nonprofit community groups going strong, as well.  This really is what differentiates our pop-up movies.

The Covid-19 crisis disproportionately impacted lower income people and small businesses, making it more important than ever for us to support them in creative ways.  We wanted to do our part through these movies, which offer our visitors and neighbors an opportunity to enjoy a day at the beach and end it with dinner and a movie in a beautiful, coastal setting.  It’s a win-win situation that benefits all, and we are still going.

We make a donation to a local nonprofit for each of our performances, with over $17,000 being donated to date, to organizations that include the Pacific Beach Coalition, Sea Hugger, Cabrillo Education Foundation, I Know Joe, and local schools’ PTOs, such as Ortega Elementary School and Ingrid B. Lacy Middle School.  Volunteers from these organizations take part in working each of our events by helping guests get parked and situated for the movies, and in exchange, the nonprofit is compensated. Thank you for supporting us, supporting them, the foundations of our community.
